Reviewing your Application and Prescreening

If you are a shortlisted candidate, you will receive a phone call for a Telephone Prescreen Interview. At the end of the call, you will be given a timeline in which you will receive an update.

Interviewing
If you’re chosen as one of the best qualified candidates after the Telephone Prescreen Interview, we will contact you again in order to schedule further interviews.

Job Offer

Purdys Chocolatier currently has over 70 retail locations in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario, as well as an e-commerce platform. Overall, the Benefits & Payroll Administrator will provide support to the Human Resources department, as well as administration support for the payroll department. This individual will be responsible for administering the employee Group Benefit Plan and act as a primary contact to all employees with respect to any benefits inquiries. The Benefits & Payroll Administrator must be able to work efficiently and independently, while maintaining strict confidentiality.


As the Benefits & Payroll Administrator, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Enter data for new hires, departures, conversions, and internal changes (Sun Life, MSP and Sun Life RRSP) into the HRIS system

• Ensure accuracy for payroll records by entering and/or monitoring changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, job title and department/division transfers

• Process information changes for employees and update the benefits provides of the changes

• Process and manage all WCB, STD & LTD claims, and coordinate with the OHS committee

• Liaise with benefit providers, acting as a central point of contact to resolve issues, launch new policy information and other related materials

• Produce ongoing reports to analyze data integrity and complete monthly audits for accuracy

• Keep current on all legislative changes to ensure compliance

• Review and maintain benefit policies; participate in benefits surveys and analyze results

• Process all hiring and termination related documentation, including preparation of ROEs

• Calculate any payment of bonuses, benefits, vacation, terminations, and leave payments as need

• Monitor employee’s vacation usage, sick hours and attendance

• Trouble shoot and assist the management team and employees with time cards exceptions and any issues that arise

• Assist Payroll Supervisor with biweekly payroll for salary and hourly employees, and ensure a timely and accurate payroll reconciliation

• Reconciliation of benefits summaries with benefit providers and payroll system

• Administrate the RRSP policy

• Attend regularly scheduled HR and Payroll meetings

• Contribute to continuous improvement on payroll processes and procedures



All successful candidates must possess the following:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with multi-provincial payroll administration, including full cycle payroll processing

• Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation preferred

• Previous HRIS experience, Ceridian Dayforce preferred

• Experience working with a variety of benefits providers

• Thorough understanding of federal and provincial payroll and employment legislation

• Experience with time and attendance sheets

• Ability to receive and communicate feedback effectively

• Proficient with the MS Office suite of products

• Strong attention to detail and organization skills

We are excited to announce that we are looking for a Senior Network Administrator to join our fantastic organization at our Head Office in Vancouver, BC!


The Senior Network Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation and support services for the network infrastructure and Windows Server. This individual will be responsible for developing complex scripts to automate tasks, monitoring services and gathering service metrics.


The position is comprised of mixture of both project related tasks and operational duties. In 2016, there are several exciting projects this individual will be working on, including a project with our storage system and storage server.


As the Senior Network Administrator, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist with the design of the corporate network and systems infrastructure

• Tier 3 network and systems related support

• Maintain network and systems infrastructure at the head office, production factory and retail shops

• Configuration and deployment of network infrastructure at new retail locations

• Assist the software developers and POS engineers with diagnosing and troubleshooting complex network and system related issues

• Maintain and update all network diagrams and infrastructure documentation

• Network traffic and bandwidth utilization analysis

• Evaluating support tools and products

• Adhere to change and incident management policies and procedures

• Managing logging, file and system integrity monitoring tools (SIEM/FIM)


All successful candidates must possess the following:

• 10 years of networking and systems architecture experience in an enterprise environment

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent combination of technical training and experience

• Advanced technical expertise in Windows system administration and IP networking

• Advanced knowledge of firewalls, QoS, IDS/IPS and VPN technologies, as well as VMWARE and storage infrastructure

• Experience with Windows OS configuration and provisioning

• Demonstrated ability with writing scripts to automate tasks

• Experience configuring and securing operating systems and troubleshooting complex operating system problems

• Ability to advise and recommend technical approaches and solutions

• Formulate merchandise plans in partnership with the merchandise planning team and VP of Merchandising

• Evaluate plans on a rolling review schedule and develop recommendations for changes when appropriate

• Develop sales, inventory and margin forecasts at the shop level

• Analyze performance and provide observations, conclusions and recommendations for changes

• Revise forecasts as needed in partnership with the planning team

• Develop assortment plans to achieve plan goals and ensure proper inventory balance of the overall assortment and store inventory

• Create reports and validate data from multiple systems

• Conduct periodic reviews of seasonal and aged inventories

• Monitoring and processing shop orders placed through the shop ordering system (including data entry)

• Acting as a liaison between other departments including retail, production and warehouse

As a Purdys Chocolatier Sales Connoisseur, you produce sales and profits by achieving sales goals and by providing excellent customer service.  As a strong team member, you will undergo extensive “Chocolatier” training and will be able to successfully operate a shop in the absence of management.  You will also consistently maintain a “team-centered” atmosphere.
