Reviewing your Application and Prescreening
Once you submit your information, it is reviewed within two weeks. Due to the substantial amount of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to everyone personally. If you are a shortlisted candidate, you will receive a phone call for a Telephone Prescreen Interview. At the end of the call, you will be given a timeline in which you will receive an update.

Interviewing
If you’re chosen as one of the best qualified candidates after the Telephone Prescreen Interview, we will contact you again in order to schedule further interviews.

Job Offer
Upon completion of the interviewing process and if you are chosen for the role, specifics such as starting salary will be discussed in further detail. From there an offer will be made and if accepted, a job offer letter will be sent to you.

The Vice President, Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic and operational support to the HR team on employee relations, training and development, succession planning, staffing, compensation and benefits, performance management, labour relations (including collective bargaining) and legal compliance. The key accountabilities in this position include:

• Build and facilitate strong internal relationships with all levels of the organization and maintain visibility with all staff

• Maintain a competitive compensation system within the reality of a retail business

Our Production Factory on Kingsway in Vancouver, BC is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team!


Job Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Carries out responsibilities identified in the Purdy’s Quality Management System including required documentation and quality checks

• Complies with all companies GMP’s

• Maintains, repairs, rebuilds, or installs any production or other equipment and fixtures within the boundary of the individual’s certification using appropriate hand tolls, shop tools or equipment

• Applies required knowledge and experience in the preventive maintenance and provides technical support and decision making during breakdown situations

• Provides electrical services for new machinery in accordance to the codes and standards

• Programs and troubleshoots PLCs and inspects electrical installation i.e. transformers and switch gears

• Writes reports of work required for repairs/maintenance

• Communicates with production supervisors to schedule machine down time for major repairs

• Ability to analyze and interpret building drawings, technical literature, equipment specifications

• Organizes and maintains spare parts inventories under the direction of the supervisor

• Completes work orders documenting time spent and parts used according to established procedures

• Complies with all safety policy, accident prevention and compliance programs; reviews work areas for potential issues that could result in losses and reports injuries and hazards

• Maintains area to a satisfactory level of cleanliness and sanitation

• Maintains accuracy and integrity of computerized maintenance programs

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• 3-5 years' experience working on food processing equipment

• Red Seal Electrical ticket required

• PLC programming certificate/training OR electrical and/or electronic training at college or university level

• Good understanding of AC and DC motors

• Excellent knowledge of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), servo motors and servo drives

• Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and computerized machinery

• Can create neat accurate and legible reports

• Ability to enter data into the computer/WIMS System

Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:



Coordination, Communication & Liaison



• Act as a key liaison for our shops, shop managers and mall marketing partners



• Coordinate and execute marketing events with various departments



• Maintain exceptional working relationships with internal customers and external companies, suppliers and partners

 Execution, Evaluation & Reporting



• Willingness to attend marketing initiatives in order to ensure they are executed appropriately and to accurately and objectively evaluate the success of Purdys’ involvement



• Gather, maintain and disseminate information to internal and external sources that reflect an accurate picture of activities within the marketing department

Planning



• Assist in the research, recommendation and execution of future marketing opportunities including special events

Budgeting



• Adhere to budgets and costs and determine, highlight and refer any variances to the manager for appropriate action

Record Keeping/Administrative



• Maintain departmental records (i.e. events attended; products donated; inventory of supplies; etc.) to ensure accurate and timely information is provided to the appropriate sources


The Successful Candidate Must Have:



• Minimum 2 years of experience with an increasing responsibility in marketing



• Post-secondary education in commerce, marketing, communications, or a related field



• Solutions-oriented problem solving and creative skills



• Excellent business communication skills (oral, written, and presentation)



• A solid understanding of social media tactics and execution



• Proven experience and strong copy writing skills 



• Strategic thinking ability, can think both inside and outside the box



• Strong leadership, extremely capable of taking initiative and highly motivated



• Very strong interpersonal skills are a must, capable of working both in teams and independently



• Highly organized and detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and develop action plans



• Ability to handle the pressure of multiple deadlines



• Project management experience is an asset



• Solid work ethic with a desire to contribute maximum effort to achieving team goals

This individual undergoes an “On the Job” training period, with the goal of further developing their experience along with our high standard of proficiency as Store Manager.  Reporting to the District Manager and with assistance from other members of the Retail Team, the Manager on the Bench is further trained in specific skills and competencies to enable him/her to develop into a top Store Manager.

In this role, duties include but are not limited to:

• Selecting quality Associates by effectively recruiting, interviewing and hiring.
