Reviewing your Application and Prescreening
Once you submit your information, it is reviewed within two weeks. Due to the substantial amount of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to everyone personally. If you are a shortlisted candidate, you will receive a phone call for a Telephone Prescreen Interview. At the end of the call, you will be given a timeline in which you will receive an update.

Interviewing
If you’re chosen as one of the best qualified candidates after the Telephone Prescreen Interview, we will contact you again in order to schedule further interviews.

Are you passionate about obtaining project results and using your IT skills in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment?

Purdys is excited to announce that we are looking for a Senior Software Developer to join our IT team in Vancouver, BC!  This senior member of the Purdy’s IT team reports to the IT Manager and is accountable for project results and ensuring that actions, deliverables, solutions and/or advice are in line with established business objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a computer science degree or equivalent work experience combined with a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience in software design and development in enterprise environments. The candidate should be highly credible with demonstrable ability to engage as a trusted advisor to senior IT and business management on emerging technologies, especially on e-commerce platforms, and how best to exploit them for business advantage.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Design and build n-tier web based, client-server and database solutions.
• Add functionality and features to existing websites.
• Assess business needs and gather, analyze and refine requirements.
• Act as a technical leader on software development projects as required.

The Successful Candidate must have the following:
• Strong communication skills are a must for this position.
• Project Management experience is an asset.
• In-depth understanding of system integrations associated with enterprise applications.
• Demonstrated knowledge of marketing driven e-commerce applications.
• Flexibility to effectively cope with changes in work volumes and directions/priorities.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Capacity for innovation and “out of the box” thinking.

Technical Skill Set Required:
• In depth understanding of the benefits and use of a software development life cycle.
• Proven experience with development with e-commerce platforms.
• Expert-level understanding of and ability to communicate Object Orientated principles.
• Knowledge of current trends in software development including, patterns/anti-patterns, SOA, XML-based architectures and component-based development.
• Good understanding of RDBMS principals with focus on Microsoft SQL Sever based database design.
• Expertise with Microsoft .Net based technologies including, C#, ADO.Net and VB.Net.
• Working knowledge of Crystal Reports.
• Experience with BI tools is an asset.

We are looking for enthusiastic Telephone Customer Service & Sales Representatives to join the Group Purchase and Fundraising teams for a Seasonal Contract at our Head Office in Vancouver, BC! 

Purdys is most famous for our chocolate shops - in addition to that, we are proud to have the Group Purchase and Fundraising Departments as extremely successful outlets that expand our sales channels. Group Purchase department creates revenue thru telephone and online sales. The Fundraising department creates business by promoting our products for usage with other organizations' fundraising initiatives. An example of this is to promote Purdys to schools whose fundraising programs involve students selling boxes of chocolates etc.

This position is an excellent opportunity to expand your customer service and sales experience while selling our award winning chocolate products. Your success will come from your ability to engage with customers over the phone, sell, and work in a team environment. 

The yearly hours of work are estimated to be:
• September to mid December
• Shifts start anywhere from 730am – 930am (8 hour shift)

As a Telephone Customer Service & Sales Representative, responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
• Cold calling and calling existing customers to increase Group Purchase and Fundraising Sales
• Ensure follow up with potential customers through phone, email or in person contact
• Explaining and promoting use of online order system to customers
• Data entry
• Troubleshooting online and over the phone
• Seek new sales opportunities to increase sales for Group Purchase and Fundraising programs by contacting potential clients
• Arranging online ordering demonstrations for existing customers
 

All successful candidates must have:
• Previous telemarketing and customer service experience is an asset
• Advanced level of spoken and written English
• Ability to lead and influence others in a team environment
• Intermediate computer skills (data entry, MS Office, Outlook, Internet)
• Ability to work under pressure and with extremely tight timelines (it can get extremely busy for our Christmas season!)
• Advanced online troubleshooting skills (while a customer is on the phone)
• Strong multi-tasking skills
• Ability to lift 5lbs, work in busy call centre environment, meet deadlines and be adaptable to change

Are you looking to exercise your IT skills, knowledge, and background as part of an exciting team?  Purdys Chocolatier is looking for a Help Desk Analyst to join our IT team at our Vancouver Head Office! 

The Help Desk Analyst’s main goal is to provide support to internal clients in the areas of problem tracking, diagnosis, and troubleshooting of technical issues. This role also requires some POS related knowledge such as install, upgrade and support.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Technical Support Duties
• Providing technical phone support to end-users such as shop staff and office staff
• Following up and keep end-users informed on status of Service Requests.
• Installing, and configuring computer hardware and workstations.
• Building and maintaining images for desktop, laptops and POS terminals and document process.
• Performing preventative maintenance of computer hardware systems and software.
• Providing software help desk support as needed and occasional off-hour support according to off-hour support policy.
Operational Duties
• Assist with keeping a record of IT assets and keeping track of IT hardware
• Assist Network and Systems personnel in upgrading and testing of desktop operating systems including application software upgrades by performing duties such as testing images, installing software and documenting results.
• Contribute in maintaining documentation for instructions, process and procedures.
• Assist with Backup tape rotation logs and functions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience and relevant education.
• Previous POS experience – hardware and software is preferred but not necessary
• Experience with basic scripting.
• Exceptional customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Strong initiative and problem solving ability.
• Experience supporting Windows environment.
