Reviewing your Application and Prescreening
Once you submit your information, it is reviewed within two weeks. Due to the substantial amount of applications we receive, we are unable to respond to everyone personally. Duties and Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

• Monitoring and processing shop orders placed through the shop ordering system (including data entry)

• Providing general shop support - with schedule flexibility during peak seasons

• Acting as a liaison between stores and the support office

• Preparing, generating, and distributing sales reports

• Assisting with operational procedures and support for retail stores

• data collection, reporting on seasonal and year round sales and forecasting

• Back up to all planning and allocation tasks and projects

Required Skills:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Chocolate Sales Connoisseur to join the sales team at our exciting shop at Aberdeen Mall!  This position is an excellent opportunity to expand your experience in retail while selling our award winning chocolate products and premium ice creams.  Your success will come from your ability to engage with customers, sell, and work in a team environment. 

This is a permanent part-time role that requires OPEN availability for all types of shifts (day, evening, weekday, and weekend).  Weekly hours are estimated to be 30 on average.

As a Purdys Chocolatier Sales Connoisseur, you produce sales and profits by achieving sales goals and by providing excellent customer service.  As a strong team member, you will undergo extensive “Chocolatier” training and will be able to successfully operate a shop in the absence of management.  You will also consistently maintain a “team-centered” atmosphere.

Our Production Factory on Kingsway in Vancouver, BC is looking for an Industrial Electrician to join our Maintenance team! This position applies electrical knowledge to install, test, repair and modify electrical machinery and electrical control equipment. This role will support all production and plant equipment in the facility.

Please note: The successful candidate MUST have experience working as an industrial electrician in a manufacturing plant.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Perform work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical theory and principles, statutory codes, properties of materials and principles of operation of electrical equipment
• Diagnose and repair or replace faulty mechanical and/or electrical/electronic components of machinery
• Test newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications
• Troubleshoot instruments; both electrical and mechanical ensuring applicable repair is performed for fixing
• Confer with the controls designers to determine operational problems and efficiency of automatic control systems
• Determine methods, procedures, and conditions for testing equipment, and follow accordingly
• Analyze operational problems and assist in the development, modifications and design to improve efficiency
• Confer with manufacturers' representatives and submit proposed design modification to improve efficiency of controls and instrumentation
• Plan, direct, and record periodic electrical testing, and recommend or initiate modification or replacement of equipment which fails to meet acceptable operating standards
• Help ensure compliance with the production schedule
• Establish standards and policies for maintenance of equipment
• Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Red Seal Provincial electrical certification (Red Seal Industrial Electrician) or Interprovincial certification
• PLC and Control System experience
• 5+ years' experience in a manufacturing setting with 480V and 600V motors 
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical equipment, hydraulic equipment, control circuits, motors, motor control circuits, and other electrical and electronic systems and equipment
• Ability to install and maintain mechanical equipment, hydraulic equipment, electrical systems and controls
• Knowledge and experience with the installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of logic control systems, Programmable Logic Controllers, and adjustable frequency AC drives
• Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics and apply NEC requirements
• Ability to draw electrical blue prints and electrical schematics using Auto Cad
• Ability to use appropriate hand, power and specialty tools and diagnostic equipment to complete job tasks
• Ability to program PLCs

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for activities associated with the development, implementation, improvement and maintenance of the company’s quality system. This includes monitoring conformance to specifications and standards through testing and internal audits, data analysis, record maintenance, reporting on trends and performance indicators such as customer and store complaints, as well as conducting refresher training for employees.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

• Assists the supervisor to develop and modify quality procedures and training materials and assists the supervisor in conducting training sessions

• Monitors quality check sheets, performance of prerequisite programs,  randomly checks conformance of production activities to recipes and enters tracking data into quality systems

• Enters quality complaint data, performs trend analysis and responds to store enquiries as directed by the QA supervisor

• Conducts product shelf life analysis and monitors compliance to shelf life standards

• Distributes product samples for testing and tabulates results

• Maintains nutritional information database and updates product specifications; analyzes effects of the introduction of new ingredients; reviews and approves labeling changes

• Assists the QA supervisor to execute the Hold and Release process, tests incoming packaging and raw materials

• Assists the QA supervisor to maintain and update specifications and recipes, supports the commercialization process and communicates changes to the appropriate departments and/or suppliers

• Monitors the document control process to ensure only current documents are in circulation

• Assists the QA supervisor to conduct internal audits, including swabbing, sanitation evaluation, pest control, GMP compliance, and scale calibrations

• Monitors sample retention and shelf life process to ensure standards are met

• Assists the QA supervisor in the development of quality improvement projects

• Assists the QA supervisor to perform supplier audits when required

• Complies with all safety policy, accident prevention and compliance programs; reviews work areas for potential issues that could result in losses

• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science

• Advanced ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English

• Strong ability to lead and influence others and create a team environment

• Excellent organizational skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Genesis, and other Quality related programs

• Strong knowledge of GMPs in a food environment

• Demonstrated problem solving abilities

We are excited about this offer for a new team member to join our fantastic organization as a full time Senior Business Analyst at our Vancouver Head Office.  The Senior Business Analyst serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet business needs and is responsible for end-to-end ownership of projects and project planning activities in area of expertise. A major focus of this role will be the requirements, selection and implementation of enhanced Ecommerce, Order Management, and Customer Relationship systems over the next 1 - 2 years.

Reports to the VP E-commerce, Group and Fundraising.

Duties

• Gathering information from clients and other stakeholders, conducting research, and documenting business needs and requirements

• Identifying options for potential solutions, evaluating the technical and business suitability of each option, and participating in assessing the priority, feasibility and impact of undertaking the project.

• Developing business cases for modifications or enhancements, summarizing and costs / benefits, and identifying measurable success criteria

• Preparing detailed specifications, use cases, workflows, and other supporting documentation for the development of modifications and enhancements.

• Participating in preparation of RFI and RFP documents and evaluation of vendor responses for new systems.

• Preparing project plans, timeline and budgeting and communicating requirements to the technical team; ensuring project deliverables meet stated requirements, are delivered to the required standard of quality and within the specified constraints of time and cost.

• Tracking and overseeing the project life cycle from analysis through to deployment, providing project updates to clients and/or internal management, and acting as liaison between technical, operational staff and clients in resolving planning and implementation issues.

• Participating in developing a project implementation plan and overseeing implementation, including quality assurance, testing and any modifications required.

• Writing information releases, preparing user manuals and providing information, training and support to clients and internal personnel with respect to new and enhanced products and services.

• Providing follow-up and supporting clients to ensure the successful operation of the newly implemented product or service.

• Performing systems analysis of functions performed within the department with the intent of improving overall productivity and efficiency.

• Assist with developing and implementing effective change management strategies for new systems and processes

• Assist in developing and monitoring system KPIs

 

Knowledge & Skills

• University degree in computer science, business admin, or related discipline with a technical focus (or equivalent)

• 5-7 years of experience working with Business Analysis techniques and methodologies

• Thorough knowledge and understanding of business analysis principles, methodologies, tools, and techniques

• Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with Business Users, Technical Teams, and Management.

• Experience with wire-framing, process flow and use case diagrams

• Intermediate Excel and Word abilities

• Ecommerce Retail experience

• Order Management experience desirable.

• Technical experience (web / software development) is an asset.
