Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels are introduced as a new piece in time for Easter

 

 

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA – March 10, 2009 – Once a year, the Easter Bunny makes an appearance; and this year, he’s coming on Sunday April 12th. But you don’t have to wait another eight weeks to get your share of Easter eggs and bunnies. Just visit your closest Purdy’s chocolate shop for all your returning favorites: Hopkins, Peter Rabbit and Baby Bunny and of course, loads of Lilliput Eggs.

“Traditionally, Easter has been viewed as a children’s holiday – putting on your Sunday best, heading out with the family and hunting for eggs. We want families to know that their kids are worth it, and they deserve premium chocolate, with real cocoa, no preservatives and no additives. This year’s selection includes many items under $5 – Baby Bunnies, Happy Easter Bars, Wooly Lambs, Bunny Lollis, Peanut Butter Eggs, Mallo Eggs, Yolk Eggs and Continental Eggs.

Of course, we wouldn’t forget the adults. Truffle Eggs are back for those with discerning tastes; Dark Chocolate Lilliput Eggs and Caramel Eggs are back this season as well. And for those who want to feel like a kid at Easter, 70% Dark Chocolate Mr. McGregor will surely satisfy.

One new addition to the Purdy’s chocolate family is the Himalayan Pink Salt Caramel. What is it exactly? Take our scrumptious vanilla caramel and JAZZ IT UP ~ a perfect mixture of sweet caramel and a dash of Himalayan salt, combine for an irresistible centre, then topped up with a sprinkling of pink salt crystals on the chocolate shell for a delightful treat. And yes, the salt is Himalayan - Himalayan pink salt is harvested from an ancient sea salt deposit in the Himalayan Mountain Range that was crystallized during the Jurassic Era over 200 million years ago! When paired with caramel, the combination is just divine. This brand new creation, hand crafted by Purdy’s Master Chocolatiers, will be in stores later this month.
