Braille Box, 18 pc
There’s nothing quite like the magic of finding your favourite chocolate in a Purdys box, and we believe this feeling of joy should be as accessible to as many people as possible.
That's why we created the Braille Box. Originally designed for 2021’s holiday season, the Braille Box is made for and in consultation with the blind and partially sighted community. This 18-piece gift box features Braille orientation tabs, a Braille chocolate legend, as well as a QR code that brings users to an accessible screen-reader version of the legend.

Q: How did you design this box?
We worked with an Accessibility Consultant named Ramya who is partially sighted. You can also see her in action in the Braille Box video.
Q: Will Purdys continue to offer the Braille Box?
This is a very special, limited-edition box that we created for the holidays. We hope people love this box as much as we do, so we can continue to offer it!
Q: Can I customize flavours in the Braille Box?
Unfortunately not. Due to the nature of the Braille Box design and production, we are unable to make any substitutions and changes.
Q: What else is Purdys doing to support people who are blind or partially sighted?
This year, Purdys is donating $10,000 to the Canadian National Institute for the Blind. Learn more about CNIB on their website. We also gifted our Braille Box to many individuals and community groups in the blind community in Canada such as: Blind Beginnings, CNIB, Ontario Blind Sports Association, Vocal Eye, Operation Eyesight Universal, Fighting Blindness Canada, and more. We hope to work more with the blind and partially sighted community in the future.
