Purdys' fresh ingredients chocolates

We never compromise on the quality of our products.

We source premium-quality ingredients from around the world, and choose local options whenever possible. In fact, our dairy products are delivered from farms across Western Canada, and most of the sugar used in our creations comes from nearby sugar suppliers.

"Purdys' chocolates always taste the way you remember them."
Charles Flavelle, Purdys' Chairman of the Board

Purdys uses only sustainable cocoa

Sustainable Cocoa

We pay a premium for cocoa to ensure our farmer partners and co-ops are supported by programs that improve their profit and the livelihoods of their families.

It's a choice we've made because it's the right choice to make.

We don't ask our customers to pay a premium for sustainable cocoa—we just ask them to enjoy.

See the real people you and Purdys are helping.

But what about homegrown sustainability?

Glad you asked. Even back in the '60s, Purdys was doing everything possible to reduce, reuse and recycle. Here's what we've achieved since then.

"I've personally witnessed the positive impact on cocoa farmers and their families from Purdys' Sustainable Cocoa Program."
Peter Higgins, Purdys' President & Chocolate Scientist

Chocolates for Everyone

At the turn of the last century, chocolatier Richard Carmon Purdy perfected recipes in his home kitchen and sold fresh chocolates on the street to enthusiastic crowds.

Demand for his delicious creations was high, and soon Purdy opened up a shop in downtown Vancouver...and then another.

More than 110 years later, Purdys Chocolatier is Canada's largest family-owned premium-chocolate company.

But we're not about the fame, we're about the chocolates.

We still use some of Richard Purdy's fabulous recipes, and we're always inventing more masterpieces.

And Purdys' Fundraising initiatives, year-round or seasonal, are a sweet way to raise money for a cause.

Or save with Purdys' Seasonal Group Purchase Program, and make the holidays a bit more delicious.

Purdys' contribution to the community

Community Involvement

As a company that’s been around since 1907, nearly as long as Canada’s been a country (we’re actually just 40 years ‘younger’), we’ve had the privilege of actively supporting our communities for 100+ years.

Each year, our fundraising, donation and sponsorship initiatives give back more than $3 million to community organizations, whether here at home in Canada or abroad supporting our cocoa farmer partners.

We invite you to learn more about Purdys’ community involvement.

"It’s not chocolate that sustains this company so much as it’s the people, the decisions they make, the opportunities they recognize and don’t shy away from."
