Chocolate Chunk Cookies

Yield - 24 cookies

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons hot water
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • Salted Butter Toffee Bars, coarsely chopped
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a stand mixer or with a hand mixer, cream together butter, white sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla.
  4. Dissolve baking soda in hot water. Add baking soda and water to the batter, then add the salt.
  5. Stir in flour, then gently fold in the chocolate chunks.
  6. Drop or scoop large spoonfuls onto ungreased pans.
  7. Bake for about 10 minutes or until edges are nicely browned.
